Introduction to Coukyos (a ton of info!)

hey! i'm finally releasing some info about the species i've made last year but finally started working on haha.

General Description

Coukyo "KO-kee-yo"

 Coukyo are magical creatures distinguished by their quadrupedal figure, inflatable crop, and beak like facial structure. (more is described on my "The Common Coukyo" post.)

Society and Common Culture:

★Coukyo are very social creatures who communicate through singing, tweets and chirps. The intellectual capacity of a Coukyo is similar to one of a human. They are ruled by social, emotional, mental, and physical needs.

★Coukyo often live in communities (often kinship-based but not always) The size of the community can vary, ranging from 2 to even 100. A group of three or more Coukyos are called a band.

★In particularily large communities (usually 10 or more), often times there is an organized hierarchy. Each Coukyo is given a place in their band. Each position allows healthy and supported living among each of them. Vital positions in a band include: Leaders, Mentor, Hunters, Gatherers, Guards, Explorers and Reporters, Heavy Workers and more.  

★Most Coukyo lives are heavily influenced by magic and whimsy, for the world they live was created by several guardians who are equivalent to gods in Coukyo society. Several guardians exist and they all represent one aspect common in Coukyo life. One particularily important Coukyo is Omnipotence (the top Coukyo in the image above). Omnipotence is said to be the highest guardian of all Coukyos. They look over all Coukyos, including other guardians.

Coukyos live in a world similar to Earth.

★Coukyo are able to inhabit any one of these places if it provides resources to sustain them
★Animals similar to those that inhabit earth reside here
★Coukyo are generally the most intellectual animals on the planet.

★No humans exist in this realm
★Magic is potent in the atmosphere
★Different foods and species exist
★Landscapes can be enchanted and mysterious
★Coukyo rely more on magic than scientific/technological advancement therefore progression in those fields are often unsupported and very slow.

★Common Band Information★
 Interaction between different bands is very common. Almost inevitable in populated regions.
 Bands without builders or those knowledgeable on construction usually live in nests. However coukyo are capable of building shacks, huts, and simple housing. Nothing too extravagant like a wood tiled house complete with heating and plumbing.
 Bands can be created at any time. However a good foundation is needed, therefore it may be hard. Most commonly, new bands are formed by branching off of larger ones.
